Over the past 2+ years, I’ve partnered with men’s mental health charity, Talk Club at my Yoga for Men classes in Bristol.
Each week, I’ve adopted Talk Club’s structure to its support sessions by sharing scores out of 10 to reflect how we feel at the start and end of each yoga class.
There has been nothing scientific in the scoring – they have simply represented how a guy has felt in the moment. The results tell their own story in how much of a positive impact the yoga has had on how a guy feels.
When we delve a little deeper, the average change in scores has increased from an impressive 16% in 2022 to an incredible 22% in 2024. If one hour of yoga can make us feel this good what does that tell us about any time we move our bodies and how beneficial this is for our physical and mental health. We may not put a figure on it, but the positive impacts are there for sure.
My Yoga for Men classes continue weekly on Mondays and Thursdays in Bristol. I offer a free first class for new joiners, and a loyalty card, too. Talk Club also offers Talk & Exercise initiatives ranging from Talk & Box to Talk & Football and Talk & Run at clubs nationwide.
