Thanks to the ‘Who let the Dads out’ team for inviting the YogaTwins and me to run a family yoga session last weekend at St Francis’ Church Hall in Keynsham.

I remember being a working Dad of pre-school age children. There were rarely opportunities for me to join community events like this. Not only is it a brilliant way to bring Dads together, they also get to the bond with their children in a different setting, and see them interact with other children and have fun.

The YogaTwins were a brilliant help throughout the event. Helping me lay out all the equipment in the room. The coloured spots in a circle for children to sit on. The picture cards we stuck up around the room for the yoga games. Most importantly of all, they were on sticker duties. The boys dished out stickers whenever one of the children did something amazing like a perfectly still Neat & Tidy pose or going with the flow on a family friendly sun salutation. I don’t know any child that doesn’t like a sticker, so they went down a storm. All children did brilliantly and it’s fair to say the Dads did too!

Who let the Dads out is on Saturday mornings twice a month – alternating between St Francis’ and St John’s Church Halls. There’s a suggested donation of £2 per family, with the friendly volunteers on hand to provide bacon rolls and croissants for the Dads and toys, craft activities, a story and toast for the children 😋

You never know, you may strike gold and find the YogaTwins and me running a family yoga session at a future Who let’s the Dads out event…
