3 words with such deep meaning after a day spent with Talk Club and a group of volunteer ‘Captains’ last month.

This was men’s health charity Talk Club’s annual gathering at Macaroni Wood near Cirencester. A chance for them to say thank you to those that give up their time to help others - the heart beat of the charity’s work.

My Yoga for Men classes have been running as one of Talk Club’s Talk & Exercise sessions over the past few years. So I was honoured to be invited to lead a yoga session in keeping with my regular classes. Many of the guys hadn’t done any yoga before. We were also in a tight space so were often nose to nose doing cobras! As we shared scores at the end it was brilliant to hear what a positive impact the 30 mins of yoga had on how the guys felt.

What I loved most was the sense of togetherness. How a group of mostly strangers could come together and talk so openly about what brought them to Talk Club - to help themselves through some very challenging times, and in turn help others.

Talk Club may be a relatively small charity, but it certainly punches above its weight on a range of life saving and life changing projects.

I’m proud to be part of the team.
