Paws for gratitude

Wow, what a fantastic finale to my classes this year. We came. We breathed. We moved. We barked. Raising money for a small charity that supported our YogaDog, Fudge meant that we were able to give something back to a charity that had supported us so much during her ongoing rehabilitation.
Fudge loved scampering around the hall at Keynsham Baptist Church, welcoming each one of my guys with a vociferous bark before a wagging tail on the hunt for a fuss. Once Fudge had left the building after a quick photoshoot with YogaNan and Paps, I led a Fudge-themed sequence. Every week this month at my Yoga for Men classes we have focused on a different breathing technique.

This week, lion’s breath became dog’s breath both from a seated and all 4’s position using Cat/Cow movements. I invited the guys to imagine they were Fudge and had seen a squirrel running up a tree, letting out their loudest bark possible. Their barks certainly had some bite and didn’t let me down.
The sequence flowed through many of the shoulder and hip mobility movements we’ve been using to support Fudge’s rehabilitation before we ended with dead bugs for core strength and belly rubs!

So far, we’ve raised a whopping £330 for Dedicated to Dachshunds through the Just Giving page. Thanks in particular to an extremely generous donation from one of my male yogis. We’ve still to include the profits from tonight and any additional donations so are on track to raise around £400.
Thanks to everyone that has supported the charity through our ‘Paws for Support’ fundraiser.
