When we had the idea at YogaDad HQ to run yoga socials we knew we were onto something. As guys get older, friendship circles often become harder to maintain. Busy careers, parenting pressures, changing interests - all contribute towards guys unintentionally becoming more distant and out of the habit of how good it feels to meet up.
I see it that way as that’s how life has turned out for me.. and speaking to others, they see it that way too. Yes, the socials are an ‘add-on’ to my yoga classes, but after a year of events most months, they’re now becoming a successful initiative in their own right.
Community has always been at the heart of my Yoga for Men classes. That carried over seamlessly on Monday night at the New Inn in Keynsham. There may have been free pool on offer but the guys didn’t notice. They were too busy chatting away. Strangers making connections, learning a little about one another, and the difference this then makes.
The conversation flowed as much as the yoga beforehand, and it was great to be amongst it.
The best bit - I’m now having guys contact me about the next meet up. Not necessarily interested in the yoga, but the offer of a meet up and connecting with like minded souls.
Our next event is on Weds, 3 December for a festive curry night at Tandoori Garden in Keynsham with 16 already booked on. Then it’s into 2026 with an exciting events calendar starting to take shape.
Get in touch with me if you’re interested in being part of it.
